DEEP NIGHT SEASON 10 BEGINS 9/20!

Friends. Dale’s looking forward to seeing you at The Slipper Room on Weds, September 20th at 8pm for the live Season 10 premiere of the Deep Night podcast. Dale’s got a terrific lineup of guests – most of whom are still covered in body glitter after attending the recent Emmy Awards. We’re finding comedy in dark places with Matt Rogers (Las Culturistas), Rae Sanni (The President Show), Kristen Bartlett (SNL), and Melinda Taub (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee). For tickets and more info visit:

All of these guests are helping to define and contextualize and offer relief from our current political moment. Meanwhile – Dale is fresh off his stint as spiritual consultant to the catering staff at some of NY’s hottest fashion events for New York Fashion Week. His turtleneck is pressed, his owlmulet gleaming, and his demons are mostly in check. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the tenth season of the show and to learn more about essential oils from a licensed regional distributor.

And after this live event tune into the podcast for more great conversations. But really – come to the event. Dale promises a good time.

Deep Night Takes on Late Night in NYC!

Dale is thrilled to discuss the legacy of late night television and the artful role of host with three terrific guests who explore this topic (among other things) in their work. Dale welcomes critic and New York Times columnist, Jason Zinoman to talk about his new, essential book, Letterman: The Last Giant of Late Night. Then the conversation will expand to include two contemporary hosts, comedians Maeve Higgins and Ike Ufomadu. Maeve of course hosts the popular podcast, Maeve in America and is a frequent all star guest/co-host on Star Talk, along with Eugene Mirman and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Ike Ufomadu is a stand up and comedic performer who has taken on the form of late night talk show and reinvented it, retooled it, deconstructed it, and put it back together again. He’s an artist in residence at Joe’s Pub along with some other terrific Deep Night alumni, and Dale is eager to hear his take on the influence of these folks behind the desks.
We’ll be joined once again by the delightful Cornelius Loy on theremin and perhaps Dale will work his conjuring magic to summon forth an additional guest! Or maybe he’ll just practice some crystal therapy on the guy who always sits in the front row! Either way, it will be a wonderful show and we hope to see you there.

Oh and a special thanks to the very gifted Candice Broersma for her illustration of Dale and his mystical pigeon on the newest poster series. Check out her work and have her draw everything. She’s terrific.

Parents Arts Night at Jalopy Featuring Dale!

Dale’s by no means the star of the show at the upcoming Parents Arts Night at Jalopy in Brooklyn. But he might be a reason to go. I know I love it, because it’s a chance to perform alongside some talented parents while also raising a little scratch for the fine educational programs at PS29. The school has been terrific and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t super excited to do this show. Just seeing the hidden talents of the other parents is gift enough. It would be great to see you as well. Some of you may know that I do voice overs, and recently I walked in for a paired audition and who was there? Another parent! We have the same agent. Which I guess is not so weird, but it felt pretty weird. And our paired audition in a tiny tiny recording box was also pretty effing weird. But, there it is, people have talents. So why not come out, enjoy some music, comedy, and whatever else people have going on when not chasing kids around the playground, or sitting quietly in the hall during parent teacher conferences. (You can also just make a donation if you prefer to do that. I won’t tell or post about it ever.)
